The first spiritual awakening in the New Testament after the ascension of Jesus is a model for how renewal, revival, and awakening can be ignited today. Would Peter have had 3,000 converts from his first public declaration of the gospel had it not been for the supernatural manifestation of the Holy Spirit? There is no way to know for sure, but my opinion is that many people would not have given much credence to what he had to say had it not been for the miraculous sign of the gift of tongues given to those in the upper room.
