One of the main reasons that the Kingdom of God does not go forth is due to the saints giving up in times of struggle, persecution, smallness, etc. Most do not completely abandon the faith, but they end up backing down from a radical pursuit of God. To some, this life of full obedience is just too costly and painful to their flesh. The temptation will be to settle for a more comfortable existence. What many don’t realize is that this “comfortable life” actually robs them from the fullness of joy that Christ wants to give to them.
