The Mighty Weapon of Prayer!

Acts 2:42

Prayer is a non-negotiable element of living the authentic Christian life and being a part of a vibrant spiritual community. A community that is not devoted to prayer is like an army that does not communicate with its commander.

In battle, they may do what they feel is best but they do not have the same perspective as the one who is meant to lead them. They will always make the best short-term decisions based upon their evaluation of what is taking place on the battlefield. What they lack is the long-term perspective that is needed to win the battle instead of just surviving until the next day.

It is my opinion that prayerlessness is one of the chief sins affecting the modern church. Sure everyone thinks it is a good idea to pray, but the actual doing of it is scarce in my experience. We want transformation and revival but far too often we try to accomplish it with our own strategies and strength. It won’t work. Spiritual transformation in a community (on a micro and macro level) can only be brought about through united prayer.
