Sowing Tears & Harvesting Joy

Regardless of my current level of sanctification, their remain aspects of my life that will always require reviving. 1 John 1:8 (NASB) reveals that “if we say that we have no sin, we are deceiving ourselves and the truth is not in us.” I must be careful of ever believing that I “have it all together”. The truth about sin is that it can manifest both in doing something that is wrong, and avoiding something that is right. As great as it would be to realize the harmful effects of our sin on our own, we are often awakened to a particular area of darkness because of the negative consequence we experience. At this moment, it is vital we do not run from the pain but embrace the discipline of the Lord.
